Why is it Called Datocat?

We get this question a lot. It's simple, really.

Data + Cat.

The Data Part

We are obsessed with data. Our parent company, Graphext, has spent years building advanced data analytics tools. We know that the future of marketing isn't "vibes"—it's hard, structured data. We built Datocat to handle the millions of rows of keywords, SERPs, and analytics that modern SEO requires.

The Cat Part

Why a cat?

1. Curiosity: Cats are endlessly curious. Good SEO requires an investigative mindset—digging into the corners of the internet to find what others missed.
2. Agility: The SEO landscape changes daily. Google updates, AI overviews, new platforms. You need to be agile to land on your feet.
3. Independence: Datocat is an agent. It works with you, but it has a mind of its own. It hunts for insights while you sleep.

The Spanish Connection

There are a few Easter eggs in the name, too:

• The Rhyme: In Spanish, "Dato" means Data and "Gato" means Cat. Datogato. It rhymes. It's funny. We like it.

• The Homage: We are huge fans of RevenueCat, another company founded by Spanish friends of ours. They are doing incredible work, and Datocat is a small nod to their success.

• The Inspiration: We look up to Datadog. Their founders are French—European entrepreneurs who built a massive success story in the US. That is exactly what we aspire to become. But let's not forget history: the French tried to conquer Spain once. We rebelled and escaped—just like an agile cat outmaneuvering a big dog. 🐕🐈

  Speaking of French... how do you say "cat" in French? Chat. So Datocat sounds a lot like Datochat. Which is perfect, because at its core, Datocat allows you to chat with your data using AI.

• The Domain: We love Catalonia, a beautiful region in Spain. The .cat domain extension belongs to the Catalan language and culture, which allowed us to secure the perfect domain: dato.cat.

Also... we just really like cats. 🐱
